Radiska Text privacy policy
In short
Radiska Text collects no personal data. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us. Your files stay on your device or wherever you choose to keep them.
The app runs on iPad and Mac and comes from the App Store.
Data controller
Olaf Rzepka, e-mail: kontakt [at] radiska [dot] eu. Since the app collects no data, in practice this only concerns messages you send us.
Your files
Radiska Text opens and saves only the files you choose: on your device, in iCloud Drive or in any other location available in the Files app or the Finder. Files in iCloud Drive and with other providers are stored and synced by Apple’s system or by that provider, under their own rules. The app has no servers of its own and never sends the contents of your files anywhere.
What the app saves on your device
- working copies: the text of untitled tabs and unsaved changes to files (described below);
- the tabs of each window: their order, the active tab, the cursor position, the chosen encoding, line endings and indentation, and references to the open files that let the app open them again when you start it;
- settings, such as the theme, the font and its size, line numbers, line wrapping and indentation.
Deleting the app deletes all its data from your device. Your files stay where they are.
Working copies of unsaved changes
So that nothing gets lost, the app saves unsaved changes automatically, but only in its own working copy on your device, not in the original file. The working copy doesn’t go to iCloud Drive or anywhere else off your device. It disappears when you save the file, when you choose Don’t Save while closing the tab or when you reload the file from disk. The original changes only when you save it.
Backups
The app’s data (working copies, tabs and settings) may be included in your device’s backup, such as an iPad backup in iCloud or a Mac backup in Time Machine. You and Apple manage this backup, and we have no access to it.
Tips
The app is free. Tips are optional and don’t unlock anything. Apple handles the purchase in the App Store, under its own privacy policy. The app doesn’t see your payment details, your Apple Account or any information about who you are: it only gets the names and prices of the tips from the App Store when you open the About Radiska Text window, and a confirmation of the purchase so that it can say thank you. From Apple we receive only aggregate sales reports, with no buyer data. The legal basis for processing data in the purchase is the performance of the contract you ask for by leaving a tip (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Ads, analytics and third-party libraries
The app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking tools, and it uses no third-party libraries. Apart from the App Store for tips, it doesn’t connect to the internet; the link to our website in the About Radiska Text window opens in your browser.
Crash reports
If you agree in your device’s settings to share data with app developers (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may pass anonymous crash reports of the app to us. This is a system setting, not the app’s.
When you write to us, we receive your e-mail address and your message. We use them only to answer and resolve your request, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and keep them only as long as needed. Our e-mail runs on Apple’s iCloud service.
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict its processing and to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office).
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, children included. A tip from a child may need a parent’s approval through Family Sharing.
Changes
When the app gets features that involve data, we will update this policy before they are released and change the date at the top of the page. If the language versions differ, the Polish version prevails.
