Contact
Have a question, a problem or an idea? Write to kontakt [at] radiska [dot] eu. We answer in Polish and English, usually within a few days.
If something doesn’t work, tell us whether it’s on an iPad or a Mac, which system version you have and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my unsaved changes, and how do I get them back?
The app keeps unsaved changes (tabs with a dot) and untitled tabs in a working copy on your device: it saves it within a second of every change, and right away when the app goes to the background or closes. Just open Radiska Text again: your tabs come back with their unsaved changes and the dot.
To put the changes into the file, choose Save (⌘S) or Save As… (⌘⇧S). If you don’t need the changes, Revert to Saved (on a Mac in the File menu, on an iPad under the … button) loads the file from disk; you can undo it with ⌘Z. The working copy disappears only when you save, or when you choose Don’t Save while closing the tab.
How do I change a file’s encoding or line endings?
On the right of the status bar, click or tap the encoding (such as UTF-8) or the line endings (LF or CRLF) and choose a new one. The change applies to this tab only and takes effect the next time you save: the tab gets a dot, and the file on disk changes only after Save. If the text has a character that can’t be saved in the chosen encoding, the app shows it, and the encoding stays as it was.
You can set the encoding and line endings of new tabs in Settings, on the Files tab. If you don’t see the status bar, turn on Status Bar on the Editor tab (on a Mac also in the View menu).
Another app changed the file. What now?
If the tab has no unsaved changes, Radiska Text simply loads the new version of the file. If it has, it shows a bar saying “The file changed on disk” with two buttons: Reload from Disk takes the version on disk (you can get yours back with ⌘Z), and Keep My Changes keeps your text, which the next Save writes to the file. Until you choose, your text is safe in the working copy, and the app never overwrites someone else’s changes silently.
If the file goes to the Trash, the app won’t save changes to it, but it lets you save the text somewhere else with Save As….
What do tips do?
Tips (One Radish, A Bunch of Radishes and A Crate of Radishes) are an optional way to support the maker. They don’t unlock anything: every feature works without them, and the app never reminds you about them. You’ll find them in the About Radiska Text window (on a Mac in the Radiska Text menu, on an iPad under the … button), under Support Radiska.
Apple handles the purchase. Each tip is a separate, one-time purchase, so there’s nothing to restore on a new device. A tip waiting for a parent’s approval completes on its own once it’s approved.
About the translations
My games and this website are available in many languages, but I don’t speak them all. I used automatic tools to help with the translations, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes and awkward wording. If something sounds wrong – in a game or on the website – write to kontakt [at] radiska [dot] eu and send me the correct version. I’ll be happy to fix it.
